Yesterday I woke up and I felt GREAT. Ready to conquer the world—which is weird for a Monday. I’m so glad I feel better because last week I felt like all sorts of crap. I was tired to the point of yawning through work each day, I had the most horrible tension headache for three days straight and I just felt….gross.
I was talking to a co-worker yesterday who’s done South Beach before and he reminded me “E, you know that carbs are an addiction, right? You just went through withdrawl.” It totally made sense when he said it. Duh. My body was used to having something, I cut off the supply (after having Chik Fil A carb central mind you)…what did I expect would happen?
I typically didn’t include carbs in a large part of my diet, which leads me to wonder if I went through 5 days of feeling like crap, what do people go through when carbs dominate every meal? Is it worse? The same? Is that why so many people quit after a couple of days?
The fact that I felt so great lent itself to an equally great Bar Method class that left my thighs quivering all night long!!!!

I really really really need to get away from eating so many nuts— they are my go to because I am a salt craver, and while they’re low carb, they aren’t low fat. I’m worried that too many nuts could be my downfall, so today I’ve packed a full day of food that doesn’t have ANY nuts in it. Weigh in tomorrow!
