Snack Pack!

…..I only wish it was pudding! I’m off to NYC to hang with my sister, mom and aunt and currently enjoying the luxury of Amtrak vs the dirty Chinatown bus I usually take. The bus is cheaper, yes, but my past 4 visits the bus has either broken or taken 3 extra hours to get to my destination. So for an extra $30 I was willing to splurge on being on time and having a (semi) clean bathroom option!

My train doesn’t get in until 7 though and knowing my mom we’ll either 1) start drinking immediately or 2) have a few apps before going to dinner. Neither option was going to sit well with an empty tummy, so I thought ahead and packed a snack for the train.

I’ve been really digging cottage cheese lately. Before you roll your eyes like my co-worker and say “I’d rather eat glass than eat cottage cheese” (true quote) mix it with some cinnamon and fiber one cereal and then make your judgement.

Plain cottage cheese = a little nasty.
Cottage cheese dressed up = LOVELY

Seriously. And the best part of the mix is that I get something crunchy, something sweet, and something that’s got both protein and fiber to keep me full. WIN!

If that fails to keep me satisfied until dinner/drinking, I also have my bag of Trader Joe’s almonds. Figured I might need another snack at some point this weekend, so I brought the entire bag. Logical?

Lots on the calendar for NYC this weekend- a crazy Indian restaurant, a barre class and brunch tomorrow morning, shopping for authentic purses in Chinatown, a play AND a trip to Eataly! I’ve been dying to go!
